Switching out of S mode in Windows 11
Windows 11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn’t available in the Microsoft Store, you’ll need to switch out of S mode
1. On your PC running Windows 11 in S mode, open Settings > System > Activation.
2. In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an “Upgrade your edition of Windows” section, be careful not to click the “Go to the Store” link that appears there.)
3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you’ll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.
Activate pre-installed Office 365:
1.Launch any Office app >
2.Start your activation by signing in with your Microsoft account(Create a account if you don’t have one yet) >
3.Click “Activative Office” >
4.Sign in your account and follow the next prompts. >
5.Complete Step 1,2 and 3 >
6.Click on Refresh once Office is ready >
7.Open a document and accept the license agreement.

Great Portable Laptop
I’ve had it for 3 months and so far it’s been amazing. Had a slight issue setting up, which could’ve just been my WiFi, but it has worked beautifully since. I’m constantly having to work on my schoolwork away from home and this is compact and light enough that I don’t even need a different bag than the small shoulder backpack I bring with me everywhere. It’s very convenient and I great computer for someone who constantly needs to work on stuff away from home.

If I could give a zero I would
This product arrived and I started it up, it was slow and lots of updates. That was to be expected for taking it out of the box the first time. However, when I went to take it out of S mode, it kept failing. Despite the instructions online, under this posting it would not work. Was on with HP tech support for 5 hours. They tried everything. The software on this laptop is bad. They couldn’t remote in because it only allowed Microsoft apps. So everything was me doing it while they guiding me step by step. To no avail. I am returning this as it is useless to me as I need to use Google apps and Adobe on it. I will be looking for a different laptop that does not have S mode installed at all.I would suggest if you need to download anything non-Microsoft you may take the chance you cannot remove it. I was so hyped to get this laptop and then so disappointed that even HP was unable to get it to work.

Could be better for what it cost
I gave this laptop 3 stars because the battery life is not what the product claims.The camera for Zoom sessions is not that good.Now, for the good parts: The keyboard is absolutely perfect.This computer is very lightweight and does not over heat while sitting on the arm of the sofa or in my lap.I like the refresh rate and it is easy to watch movies with its good picture.
